Meet Kartsevo Etoile: Grand Prix stallion licensed for KWPN and Hanoverian

After successful completion Stallion Performance Test in 2012, Etoile stayed at Stal Hexagon, The Netherlands, and began his dressage career with Dinja van Liere. At 2013 Pavo Cup Finals he placed 10th, scoring 9 for trot and walk.

Etoile returned to Russia at 2015 and continued to perform under Olga Sergeenkova. Together with Olga he qualified for WCYH in Verden, Germany, where they finished 8th in Small Final for 6-year old horses. Next year Etoile won several national and international competitions in Russia and participated at WBFSH WCYH in Ermelo, The Netherlands.

Skipping Small Tour, we started preparing directly for Grand Prix, because Etoile always showed great talent for passage and piaffe. With his new rider Evgeny Sharangovich Etoile debuted in Grand Prix in October 2018. And not without success! The pair finished with 66.341 %. They increased their scores to 69.638 % already in February. I’m sure that this is far from the limit. Etoile has a fantastic canter; he gets no less than 8 points for the piaffe and passage.

Etoile successfully combines sports and breeding careers. 58 his foals registered. The oldest filly born in Kartsevo — 3-year old L’Andy, the daughter of Dutch National champion Andy (Jazz x Ulft x Amor) — is demonstrating outstanding dressage talent. In 2018 Etoile was approved for Hanoverian breeding. This spring we were glad to know he is WFFS-free.

Next year we expect birth of Etoile’s foals from mares of Russian riding breed. In this experiment we put our hope for Etoile’s ability to raise the Russian breed to a new level — like his sire Don Schufro made a significant contribution to the Danish warmblood.
